Imo PDP: Huge turnout for PDP’s caretaker committee inauguration in Imo

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee established a new caretaker committee on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, to oversee the party’s operations in the State.

Leaders and officers from the 27 LGAs in the state were present at the ceremony, which was held at the party’s State Secretariat on 98 Okigwe Road, Owerri.

The PDP’s South East Zonal Vice Chairman formally inaugurated the group and exhorted members to put in a lot of work to position the party for State recovery.

He said that the enormous number of party members who turned out for the inauguration is proof positive that the party is still strong, stable, under capable leadership, and that it is now working together for better outcomes without worrying about being subverted.

Imo PDP is currently enjoying a fresh lease of life, according to Chief Mike Ahumibe, the Southeast Zonal Organizing Secretary.

In accordance with Section 29(2)(b) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017), the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP authorized the Imo State Caretaker Committee’s composition on April 30, 2024, to oversee the Imo State Chapter of the Party.

The Caretaker Committee was tasked with leading the Party’s operations in Imo State for a maximum of ninety days (three months), or until a new Executive Committee is chosen.

The Chairman, Engineer Chidi Dike, is joined by Nnamdi Nsorom, Edith Nwachi, Carl Nwoke Oma, Barr. Uche Igbokwe, Bede Ejimadu, Barr. Gozie Nwachukwu, Mrs. Chinyere Okoro, Hon. Mike Okafor, Hon. Jeff Nwachukwu, Chris Odoemena, Victor Diala, Njaka Uche, Clara Ugba Onyebuchi, Njaka Duruiheoma Emeka, and Ugorji Onuegbu, Secretary.
